ECOPOLIS
ECOPOLIS is a non-profit association created in 1998. Its role is to support the Sustainable Development of the Principality and to promote social, cultural, and economic behaviors in its favor.
As of 2023, the association has more than thirty members who meet regularly to address these issues. The varied profiles enrich the quality of the discussions and allow for a diversity of topics to be covered. The main strength of the association is to bring the concerns of residents, consumers, or users to the decision-makers and to propose projects through the association rather than individually.
AMPN (ASSOCIATION MONEGASQUE POUR LA PROTECTION DE LA NATURE)
L’Association Monégasque pour la Protection de la Nature (AMPN ) was founded in 1975 and chaired by Eugène DEBERNARDI. Gradually, the elements leading to the creation of the first “Monaco Marine Reserve” in April 1976 were put in place.
Located on the eastern part of the Monegasque coastline, in front of the Larvotto district beaches, this 33-hectare Marine Protected Area (MPA) mainly houses a Posidonia seagrass meadow, an endemic Mediterranean species. The enthusiasm generated by the preservation results led the AMPN to create a second reserve in 1986. The smaller AMP of Tombant des Spélugues (2 hectares), located at the entrance of Port Hercule, was primarily established to protect the only coralligenous drop-off in the Principality.
The AMPN has managed the AMP of Larvotto and Spélugues since their creation.
To protect and improve environmental quality, MC2D works in various fields, always with a view towards sustainable development. We need your help to carry out these actions. Join us and become a member of our association. To join and become a member:
